Will the local authority pay for my homecare?
If your local council carries out a care needs assessment and agrees that you're eligible for care and support at home, they will do a financial assessment to establish if you are entitled to funding for or towards your care. This will take into account your income and savings. This won’t take into account the value of your property unless you’re going into a care home.
You'll be given a personal budget to spend if your local authority decide you are eligible for funding. This money can be paid to you to enable you to decide how it is spent. This is known as direct payments.

Am I eligible for NHS continuing healthcare funding?

-
If you’re under State Pension age, you may be eligible for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) instead.

If you have a carer, they could be eligible for Carer’s Allowance.
